The preparation has been long and arduous; the early morning hikes, the strict athletes’ diet, the weekends spent on the Epsom Downs. Finally, we can come together in celebration of Joseph’s awesome achievement. Over the weekend of the 15th and 16th July, Joseph and his band of merry mates completed a gruelling, 24-hour challenge over the three highest peaks of the UK. This superhuman effort was all in aid of Oliver’s Wish and they shattered their £10k target.
“I am proud to say the ten friends and I managed to complete the National Three Peaks challenge over the weekend of Friday 14th July to Saturday 15th July!
“We braved horrendous weather conditions, blisters the size of dinner plates and all types of aches and pains to climb up and down Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Mount Snowdon, across three home nations, in 24 hours, driving through the night on Friday and Saturday.
“In doing so we raised close to £13,000 for our local charity of choice and are both fitter and stronger for it.
“Just a shame we didn’t get to see many of the most beautiful panoramic views on offer in the British Isles due to the weather, glimpses of which can be seen below.”
